Meet Aidan Anderson: The Founder Behind IN2R

Scott Anderson
BUILT FROM
EXPERIENCE.

A real story became a name, a registered trademark and a Canadian streetwear brand.

Founder profile · Saskatchewan born

Aidan Anderson did not wait until he had every answer. At 18, he turned a phrase that described something real in his life into the foundation of IN2R Clothing and Apparel.

Today, Aidan is the founder and owner of a Canadian streetwear brand built around movement, connection and making honest conversations about mental health easier to start.

This is the person behind I Need To Ride and the young founder whose experience continues to shape what IN2R stands for.

01 · Before the brand

Riding Created Space

As Aidan reached high school, anxiety and depression made parts of everyday life harder. BMX, snowboarding and time in motion gave him an outlet. Riding created freedom, focus and room to breathe when the pressure was difficult to explain.

It also brought connection. The people around him did not need a perfect explanation to understand why getting out and moving mattered.

The words I Need To Ride came from that experience. They were direct, personal and honest. Eventually, they became IN2R.

02 · Starting young

Turning an Idea Into Something Real

Aidan launched IN2R at 18. Starting that young did not mean knowing exactly how to build a clothing company. It meant being willing to begin, learn and keep shaping the idea as the brand developed.

The original IN2R design turned the meaning of I Need To Ride into a visual identity people could recognize and wear. Aidan filed the mark with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office in 2020. It was registered in 2023 and remains an active Canadian trademark owned by him.

The trademark matters because the story behind IN2R is not borrowed. The name, meaning and original identity belong to the founder who lived the experience that inspired them. You can see the original mark and registration details in the IN2R Brand Story.

Started Young

Aidan launched IN2R at 18 and learned by building.

Stayed Honest

The message comes from lived experience, not a marketing trend.

Built With Support

Family and community helped the idea keep moving.

03 · The honest chapter

Growth Has Not Been a Straight Line

Building IN2R has included progress, difficult stretches and time away. When life changed, Aidan stepped back while his dad kept believing in the brand and its purpose, helping keep the store running while Aidan remained its founder and owner.

That chapter is part of the story, not something to hide. A brand built around honest conversations should be honest about the fact that people sometimes need help, time and support.

Today, Aidan and his family are shaping IN2R's next chapter together. Aidan remains its founder and public face, while the work behind the scenes gives the brand a stronger foundation for what comes next.

04 · Beyond the first collection

A Story That Connected With People

What began as one young founder's idea reached people far beyond his original circle.

The family of Fred Sasakamoose selected Aidan to design an authorized tribute clothing collection honouring the Indigenous hockey trailblazer. Canadian sports broadcaster Dan O'Toole later brought his own personality to the IN2R story through a featured campaign. O'Toole, known for his years on TSN SportsCentre, featured IN2R through his Danitized series — putting the Saskatchewan brand in front of a national audience.

IN2R has also received repeated CommunityVotes Saskatoon recognition. Those moments matter because they reflect people choosing to support a Saskatchewan-born brand and the story behind it.

05 · What comes next

Keep the Meaning at the Centre

IN2R is growing again, but growth only matters if the brand keeps the meaning that made people care in the first place.

For Aidan, that means remaining connected to the experience behind I Need To Ride. It means creating apparel people want to wear while respecting the mental-health story that gave the brand its purpose.

He started with a feeling he understood. The next chapter is about helping more people recognize that feeling in themselves and know they are not the only ones carrying it.
