The Story Behind the Tribute

The family wanted more than another piece of merchandise.

After Fred Sasakamoose passed away in 2020, unauthorized tribute apparel began appearing online. His son, Neil Sasakamoose, wanted the family’s official tribute to be created with respect, meaning and direct family involvement.

Neil approached Prince Albert entrepreneur Aidan Anderson and IN2R Clothing and Apparel. The family connected with Aidan’s authenticity, IN2R’s local roots and the brand’s commitment to challenging the stigma around depression and anxiety.

Aidan created the exclusive “Legends Live Forever” design around Fred’s number 21. The authorized collection included limited-edition shirts, hoodies and hats and was released only once.

The Purpose Behind the Collection

A limited release created to carry Fred’s legacy forward.

Net proceeds from the original collection were directed to Fred Sasakamoose Chief Thunderstick Sports Inc., supporting the organization connected to the national hockey championship that carries Fred’s name.

The collection is no longer available. This page remains in the IN2R archive as a record of a meaningful collaboration built on trust between the Sasakamoose family and a young Saskatchewan designer.
